Project canceled per School Board Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, cashiers check or certified credit union share draft in a separate envelope in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. Bids will be opened and read aloud immediately after specified closing time for receiving bids. All interested parties are invited to attend.The Board of Directors may make the award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder meeting specifications. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract or contracts as shall be deemed in the best interests of the Des Moines Independent Community School District. Work under the proposed contract shall be commenced immediately after the award of the contract and shall be completed and ready for operation not later than 180 calendar days after the notice to proceed, subject to any extension of time which may be granted by the Board of Directors The existing restrooms will be remodeled with new plumbing fixtures, finishes, and restroom accessories. Plumbing fixture counts are reduced in the multi-user restrooms to allow for wheelchair accessible stalls to be installed. In select single user restrooms, the waterclosets are being moved to conform to wheelchair transfer requirements.
