Main Street Bridge Replacement - 91060 - City Of Ventura

Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Ventura, California. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel. Replace the 1932 Main Street Bridge across the Ventura River with new scour-resistant structure. New bridge to be 56' wide by 1,240' long, with new support piers placed on deep pile footings. The latest Department of Transportation Bridge Inspection indicates that "Bridge is scour critical; field review indicates that extensive scour has occurred at bridge foundations. Immediate action is required to provide scour counter measures." Bridge scour occurs when fast-moving water around a bridge removes sediment from around the bridge foundation, leaving behind scour holes. As of June 30, 2022, this project is included in the City of Ventura's FY 2023-2027 CIP. Information regarding a design team or a general contractor is not available.
