Description | The Orlando VA Medical Center (OVAMC) has a requirement to ensure facility existing roof is (i.e. Protected Membrane Roofing - Cold Applied Membrane Waterproofing Systems) operational to ensure safe sterile environment for staff and veterans. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, travel, and equipment to replace roofing/systems. • Current roof inspections shall be performed. The Contractor shall contact the COR to request any deviations from this schedule in advance. • Set up proper safety areas in the immediate areas while work is to be performed. • Remove existing coping metal and metal counter flashings totaling 152’ LF. • Remove roofing and dispose material down to structural concrete deck totaling 1300’ SF. • Prep surface of structural concrete deck and apply asphalt primer at a rate of 1 gallon per 500 SF over a total of 1300’ SF. • Install MB smooth base sheet over primed structural concrete acting as vapor barrier totaling to. • 1785’ SF. (includes wall flashings). • Install tapered insulation process with cold process adhesive over 1560’ SF complete with. • crickets to divert water to scuppers. • Install MB base sheet over 1785’ SF of newly installed tapered insulation and walls. • Install MB cap sheet over 1785’ SF of newly installed base sheet. • Flash 2- 8”x4”x12” scupper box per NRCA guidelines. • Install 2”x12” treated wood nails totaling to 130’ LF. • Install cleats to nails 12” O.C. totaling to 130’ LF. • Install coping cap to cleats and secure on interior side every 6” O.C. using stainless steel. • fasteners complete with neoprene washers totaling to 130’ LF. Ensure coping caps are complete with sealant. • Terminate interior wall flashing with termination bar and ¼”x1 ¼” tapcon fasteners complete with sealant. • Cut 1 ¼” into brick mortar joint and install 2-piece metal Reglet into mortar. • Fill empty space in mortar with like materials and seal with urethane sealant. • Flash 1 lightning rod using 4”x4” pitch pan per NRCA guidelines. • Clean the entire site of all construction debris affiliated with the working area. • Contractor shall provide a Labor and Year Materials Warranty upon completion and inspection. Upon completion of the warranty, contractor can provide a warranty renewal option at the end of the life of the warranty. |
