Description

The project proposes a signalized ped/bike crosswalk connection between the bus bays on the north-side of Herndon Parkway and the bus bays on the south-side of Herndon Parkway. The project includes improvements to create an ADA accessible streetscape, refuge median island and bus shelter/transit facilities. Other improvements include transit aesthetic design elements, road drainage, landscaping, roadway, and sidewalk lighting. The completed project will provide a drop-off lane on both sides of the parkway to accommodate safe and efficient drop off areas for both Fairfax Connector buses and pedestrian vehicles.
