Terminus Transmission Main Replacement Project

The proposed project will include the replacement of the Key West terminus segment of the existing 30" HDPE transmission main down Fleming Street in Key West, Florida. Approximately 4,200 LF of 18" DR11 HDPE or PVC will be slip lined into the existing 30" water main. The project also involves water main installation of approximately 3,250 LF of 18" C900 PVC along Thomas Street, White Street, and Newton Street; and approximately 2,500 LF of 8" HDPE or C900 PVC will be slip lined into the existing 18" water main down Eisenhower Drive and Palm Avenue. Proposals must be accompanied by, a certified check, or cashier's check drawn on any State or National Bank, or a bid bond issued by a Surety authorized to issue such bonds in the State where the work is located, in the amount of 5 percent of the total amount of the proposal submitted. This bid security shall be given as a guarantee that the Bidder will execute the attached Contract and furnish properly executed Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the full amount of the Contract price within the time specified. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES : In the event the Bidder is awarded the Contract and fails to complete the work within the time limit or extended time limit agreed upon for Substantial Completion as set forth in the Contract Documents, liquidated damages shall be paid to the FKAA at the rate of $1000.00 per calendar day for all work awarded under the Contract until the work has been substantially completed as provided by the Contract Documents. After Substantial Completion, if the Bidder fails to complete the work within the time limit or extended time limit agreed upon for Final Completion, liquidated damages shall be paid to the FKAA at the rate of $500.00 per calendar day until Final Completion of the project. The FKAA reserves the right to reject all Proposals where the FKAA deems rejection to be in its best interest, or to reject any Proposal not in compliance with the Contract Documents. The FKAA reserves the right to waive any informalities and irregularities in said Proposals.
