18/36 Runway Edge Dams

The general scope of work will include, but not be limited to, the following summary items. Additional details and information can be provided. (Base Bid) a. Contractor must adhere to FAA Advisory Circular 150/5300-13A (latest revision) pertaining to transverse grade limitations; see Image 1A & 1B b. Contractor is to locate each edge light and mark them to ensure no damage to the lights occur while completing the SOW. In the event a light is damaged, the contractor is responsible at their sole expense for replacing the light and any other parts associated with the light to ensure proper operation; see Image 2 c. Negative grade estimated 3800 linear feet by 20 feet width from the edge of the east side of runway 18/36 to prevent water from ponding on the edge of the runway; see Image 3 d. Make a smooth transition from the negative graded area to the existing field not to create a bank or mound from the graded area to the nongraded area. Contractor should ensure no ruts are left behind from equipment in grades or non-grade area. e. Clear off the edge of the runway from all grass, weeds, dirt, etc.; see Image 4 f. Remove dirt from grading of the area and transport to location designated by MAA. Designated area is on MAA property, inside the AOA fence at the intersection of Perimeter Road and Old Military Road; see Image 5 g. Contractor shall apply a mixture of Ryegrass seed and unhulled Bermudagrass seed with a ratio of 10 lbs. of Ryegrass per acre and 30 lbs. of unhulled Bermudagrass per acre. (Alternate 1) h. Proposal Alternate 1 shall include installation of solid sod Bermudagrass to a width of 10’ from the edge of pavement running the full length of the runway work area included in the SOW.
