Description | Scope of Services 1. The City has identified the need to engage a contractor to perform landscape maintenance services of City parks and landscaped City facilities to include turf, planter and open space areas and irrigation maintenance services . 2. The City is responsible for the maintenance of turf, planter and open areas associated with City parks, municipal facilities, and aqueduct landscaped areas. This RFP is for the landscape maintenance of these areas, which consists of approximately 6.4 million square feet of turf, 1 million square feet of planter, and 200,000 sq ft. of weed abatement open space. Please see Exhibits A and E -Proposed Work Schedules - Section II, for additional information. 3. Funding for these services is provided through Special Financing Districts to fund Parks and/or an allocation through the General Fund. Special Financing Districts are funded by property owners for programs and facilities, such as parks. General fund allocations are designated for City facilities and associated areas. As such, funding for the services may be adjusted throughout the term of the contract. The current level of service is referenced in the bid import schedule. 4. The City requires the services of a contractor with experience in public landscape and irrigation maintenance, licensed in the State of California, that possesses valid licenses, permits, and certifications, as required in this RFP for the performance of the work.
