Description

Provide all materials, tools, machinery, labor and supervision necessary to accomplish the demolition of the County Swimming Pool located at 1559 South Main Street, Ellijay, Georgia 30540. Bidder shall submit a lump sum price to perform all work in accordance with the specifications. Such work shall include, but not limited to, the following: A. Demolition and removal of all materials composing the existing County Swimming Pool (concrete, pool wall, plumbing, filter system, etc.) starting at an identified line approximately 10 feet from the edge of the back of the Gilmer County Civic Center running east to the edge of the concrete decking (approximately 150 feet in length) and to the full length of the decking North and South (approximately 120 feet in width) (the “pool site”). The perimeter lines of the area to be demolished will be painted with a yellow marking paint. B. Demolition and removal of the filter system and concrete pad adjacent to the pool site. C. Any plumbing and electrical to the 911 Building, the Maintenance Building and the Civic Center must remain operable during and after the demolition. D. Once the site has been completely demolished the project will be suspended for a short time while county employed Geotechnical Engineers inspect and evaluate the subsurface for stress bearing capability and stability for construction of a new County Swimming Pool at the site (the “Inspection”). E. Upon the completion of the Inspection, filling the demolished site with clean fill dirt so as to achieve an acceptable compaction of 90%. F. All demolition waste and materials shall be removed from the site and properly disposed of at a licensed facility in accordance with federal, state and local codes and ordinances. All loads shall be covered and secured prior to and during transport. Written documentation shall be provided to Gilmer County certifying the proper disposal of all waste materials. No materials shall be salvaged, stored or accumulated in any area. The bidder relieves Gilmer County of all liability in the disposal of debris. The bidder is responsible for all fees and permits, if applicable. G. Properly remove and dispose of any hazardous materials that may exist or be encountered on the site.
