Project Description: Wastewater Treatment Plant Immediate Action Projects, Package III Any questions regarding the Contract Documents should be directed to Dan Patten, Project Manager, in writing to dpatten@cityofsanmateo.org. The estimated construction cost of this Package is $15,248,000 The Work to be performed under this Contract includes constructing the Work broadly described below, in accordance with the Contract Documents, with all related appurtenances. Work shown on the Drawings, or indicated in the Specifications, or indicated elsewhere in the Contract Documents is part of the Work, regardless of whether indicated below. The project shall consist of two phases. Phase 1 shall be procurement of equipment and Phase 2 shall be the mobilization and construction of the Work. The Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Effluent Pump Station 2 (EPS2) including a new vertical turbine pump adjacent to the existing vertical turbine pumps, pumps VFDs, new suction piping and flow meters between the chlorine contact basins (CCBs) and EPS1 and EPS2, new suction and discharge piping and valves for the new pump, tie-in to the existing EPS2 forcemain, repaving at EPS2. Rebuild three existing pump motors, add VFDs to existing three pumps. Replacement of four check valves at EPS1 pump discharges. 2. Architectural Modifications including window and door replacement for the EPS1 electrical room, and painting interior and exterior of EPS1. 3. Site Waste Pump Station including new round precast polymer concrete wetwell, below grade valves and flow meter vault, three submersible non-clog pumps, pumps VFDs, new manhole to intercept site waste flow from the existing Site Waste Pump Station, install polymer concrete liner inside existing manhole outside solids handling building, new suction piping from the existing Site Waste Pump Station to the new Site Waste Pump Station, and demolition of existing Site Waste Pump Station in Solids Handling Building. Repaving at pump station and along new pipelines. 4. Mechanical Modifications including new HVAC for the Effluent Pump Station 1 (EPS1) electrical room, the solids handling building control room, the digester control building electrical room, and new filtered louver for the main structure electrical room. 5. Crack repair of EPS1 wetwell including repairs to the interior surfaces within the EPS1 wetwell. 6. EPS1 Roof Repair including repair of built-up roofing system of EPS1 and removal and replacement of rock gravel. 7. Centrifuge/Centrate Piping Improvements including new centrate drain piping, recirculation piping, chemical batch tank and chemical feed piping. 8. Sludge Recirculation System Replacement including replacement of digested sludge piping and miscellaneous temperature sensors. 9. Site Work including site paving and grading modifications, site improvements at the EPS2 and Site Waste Pump Stations, new intercepting manhole, site piping, and bollards. 10. Electrical, I&C, and programming in support of the new facilities being constructed. C. Contracting Method: The work hereunder shall be constructed in accordance with the Contract Documents and at the prices set forth in the Bid Schedule. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by the office issuing documents as having received the Bidding Documents.
