8(a) Set-Aside Redesign and replace the ZLC irrigation system. The area of work has changed greatly since the project was project was created. Rather than upgrading/modernizing the current irrigation system, many sections can be demolished or abandoned in place. At most, water would be drained from each zone and sprinkler heads would be removed. For each area in consideration for demolition/abandonment, corresponding amount of grass areas would be resurfaced to match reduction in maintenance labor. Using these methods, it will greatly reduce labor and material costs as opposed to complete redesign of the irrigation system. The following is the plan as a minimum: Irrigation removal and/or abandonment of the four areas as shown in Figure 6 of the attached Site Survey report. Removal of control valve boxes if necessary. Removal of existing grassy surfaces and resurfacing these areas with low maintenance materials.
