The University of Massachusetts - Lowell, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from General Contractors for the Ball 308 Engineering Research Lab Modifications Project in Lowell, Massachusetts, in accordance with the documents prepared by MDS/Miller Dyer Spears, Inc. The Project consists of: the renovation of approx. 1200sf of lab space to provide enhanced ventilation for proper fume hood operation. The primary scope is the replacement of HVAC equipment including ductwork, fume hood duct and riser replacement, roof exhaust fan replacement and new electrical power. Arch. scope includes selective demo, louvers, hazardous material abatement, roof flashing, new lab benches and cabinets, patching of cmu and painting. The work is estimated to cost $615,000 Please review the instructions in the bid documents on how to register as an electronic bidder. The bids are to be prepared and submitted at electronically ,General bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in the following category of work, General Building Construction, and must submit a current DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility and signed DCAMM Prime/General Contractor Update Statement. General bids and sub-bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates), and made payable to the University of Massachusetts - Lowell. This deposit will be refunded for up to two sets for general bidders and for one set for sub-bidders upon return of the sets in good condition within thirty (30) days of receipt of general bids. Otherwise the deposit shall be the property of the Awarding Authority. Additional sets may be purchased for $ 75.00.
