Fish Creek Open Space - PM16.005 - City of Maplewood

Improvements at Fish Creek Open Space. Maplewood acquired the 70-acre Fish Creek site in 2013 and constructed trails in 2016. Partner Great River Greening (GRG) conducted woodland and prairie restoration in 2012-2015. Maplewood and Ramsey County are discussing the possibility of this site becoming part of the Regional Park System. The next projects at the site, in partnership with Ramsey County, are installing a parking lot, shelter, and a rustic trail along the creek. As of February 27, 2023, this project is currently in the City of Maplewood 2023-2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). Funding for this project is allotted in the County's Capital Improvement Plan for construction FY 2025. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
