Description | For 2023 Spring Tree Planting Program The proposed improvement is officially known as the 2023 Spring Tree Planting Program which consists of the furnishing and installing of trees and shrubs in parkways, front yards and municipal sites at various locations throughout the Village of Bloomingdale, Illinois, including necessary appurtenances. The Village of Bloomingdale is exempt from the Illinois State Municipal or County Retailers Occupation Tax, Service Occupation Tax, Use Tax, and Service Use Tax as described in Illinois Revised Statute Chapter 120. Bid prices shall not include the cost of such taxes. All proposals must be accompanied by a bank cashiers check, bank draft, certified check or bidder's bond, made payable to the Treasurer of the Village of Bloomingdale, for not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid. The bid security shall be forfeited if the bidder fails, or refuses to enter into contract after his proposal is accepted. Unless otherwise approved in writing by the Public Works Forestry Division, the Village of Bloomingdale shall only accept bids directly from local nursery businesses certified by the Illinois Department of Agriculture. Nursery businesses must be located within a 100-mile radius of the Village of Bloomingdale, with at least 100 acres of quality shade tree nursery stock of suitable size and species listed on the Schedule of Prices. The 100 acres of nursery stock are to be in a single site within the 100-mile radius to assure growing conditions similar to the climate in Bloomingdale. The Village will inspect and select trees and shrubs to be supplied at the nursery site awarded the contract, prior to the digging and root balling process. The President and Board of Trustees reserve the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive any and all informalities, irregularities and technicalities when awarding the contract for the work. |
