Town and School Data Centers Project

Replace two existing datacenters, one at the High School and one at Town Hall. This is a two part project. The first part of the project, replacing the High School datacenter, to be completed by January 2022. The second part of the project, replacing the Town Hall datacenter, being subject to budget approval in June 2022, and completed by January 2023. The goal is for these datacenters to have the ability to migrate servers between each other at the end of the project. The datacenters are currently connected by 1 GB municipal fiber. The connection will be upgraded to 10 GB before this project is completed. Bids should include services to install and configure all equipment and configuration of “active cluster” failover and redundancy in year two. Vendor should design, install, and configure two clusters within two datacenters that are connected at 10GB. Each cluster will consist of two Cisco UCS Virtual Server Hosts (or equivalent) and a Pure Array that will be connected to West Springfield’s existing HPE Aruba 5406/5412 switches. Vendor will work with West Springfield’s IT Team to add SFP+ expansion modules that will provide the 10GB SFP+ ports to connect the hosts and arrays. The two clusters will be configured for “Active Cluster” failover and redundancy between the two datacenters. In additional to installation or equipment and configuration, services should include the migration and configuration of existing virtual machines (VMs) in the new datacenter. VM to VM for the school datacenter and Nutanix to VM for the Town datacenter.
