Description

In general, the work on this project consists of the reconditioning/refurbishment of two (2) existing Internalift Screw Pumps for the Park Avenue Wastewater Treatment Plant in Maple Shade Township, Burlington County, New Jersey. The work shall include, but not limited to, removal, cleaning/disinfection, shipment, coordination of reconditioning with Evoqua, refurbishment of Screw Pump Gear Boxes, re-installation and placement into satisfactory operation as described in the Specifications. Mobilization: mobilize to the project site for Work and provide a complete demobilization upon completion of Work. All costs for these efforts shall be as defined in the Contract Documents and included in the lump sum line item "Mobilization (maximum 5% of Contract Amount)" of the Bid Form. This bid item will be recommended for payment by the Engineer once 10% of the total project cost is recommended for payment. It shall only be paid where listed in the Bid Proposal and per the guidelines of N.J.A.C. 7:14-2.9. 2. Screw Pump Removal and Reinstallation: Coordinate with the Owner and Contractor to provide bypass pumping. Coordination with Evoqua for shipment for reconditioning/refurbishment. Upon completion of the refurbishment of the screw pumps, reinstall in the wet well, reinstall all appurtenances, and adjust screw pump and place the screw pump into operation. All costs associated with this Work shall be included in the lump sum line items "Screw Pump No. 1 Removal & Reinstall" & "Screw Pump No. 2 Removal & Reinstall" of the Bid Form. Only one screw pump shall be out of service at any given time. 3. Screw Pump Reconditioning/Refurbishment & Start-Up/Testing (by others): Reconditioning is to be completed by others (Evoqua) and the Contractor is responsible for all coordination. All costs associated with Evoqua's refurbishment Work shall be included in the lump sum line items "Screw Pump No. 1 Reconditioning" & "Screw Pump No. 2 Reconditioning" of the Bid Form. Site Restoration: Provide all restorations required for a complete project to restore facilities to pre-existing conditions or better. All costs associated with this Work shall be included in the lump sum line item "Site Restoration (Minimum Bid$1,000)" of the Bid Form. The Township of Maple Shade re-serves the right to consider the bids for sixty (60) days after the receipt thereof, and further reserves the right to reject any or all bids, either in whole or in part and also to waive any informality in any and make such awards or take action as may be in the best interest of the Town-ship of Maple Shade, in accordance with applicable law. Bids must be on the bid form pre-pared by Remington and Vernick Engineers, in the manner designa-ted therein and required by the specifications, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder on the outside and also bearing on the outside reference to the particular work bid upon. Said bids shall be addressed to Andrea T. McVeigh, Clerk, Township of Maple Shade, Municipal Building, 200 Stiles Avenue, Maple Shade, New Jersey, 08052. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond duly executed by the bid-der as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Township of Maple Shade in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 of the amount bid. Any such bid bond shall be without endorsement or conditions. Bid shall also be accompanied by a certificate letter from a surety com-pany stating that it will provide the bidder with the completion bond. The award of the contract shall be made subject to the necessary mo-neys to do the work being provided by the Township of Maple Shade in a lawful manner. The contract to be executed by the successful bidder will provide that it shall not become effective until the necessary moneys to do the work have been provided by the Township of Maple Shade in a lawful manner. The award shall further be subjected to the securing of necessary State, Federal or Local permits governing the work. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., N.J.A.C. 17:27 (Affirmative Action), N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq.(New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act), and Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. S12101, et seq.). The contractor is further notified that he must comply with N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2 and submit a Disclosure Statement listing stockholders with his bid. The contractor is further notified that he must comply with N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq. Public Works Contractor Registration Act and he and any subcontractors must be registered in accordance with the act. The contractor is also further noti-fied that he must comply with N.J.S.A. 52:32-44 and submit proof of business registration and submit proof of business registration for any named subcontractors in accor-dance with the act.
