Storm Water Management System Improvements

The project is located near theintersection of CR 1050 N & CR400 E, and generally extends from1044 N 400 E to 1064 N 400 E. Theproject is located in Sections 9 &10, Township 36 North, Range 5West, in Jackson Township, PorterCounty, Indiana,The project consists of the installa-tion of new storm water infrastruc-ture, including storm sewer, stormsewer structures, and ditches andswales, to address long-standingdrainage and flooding issues affect-ing the area around the intersectionof CR 1050 N & CR 400 E.The project includes installation ofstorm sewers, via open trenchconstruction, including excavation,placing bedding and haunching,laying storm sewer pipe, placinginitial backfill, placing final backfill,shaping, trimming and finishing,and cleaning, inspecting, and test-ing; installation of storm sewerstructures, including excavation,placing bedding, setting precastreinforced concrete storm sewerstructures, placing adjusting ringsand castings, backfilling, shaping,trimming, and finishing, and clean-ing; and, the complete reconstruc-tion of the west (i.e., southbound)lane of CR 400 E, which will bedisturbed during the performance ofthe work. The project also includesother items incidental to the work,including maintenance of traffic,erosion and sediment control, andthe restoration of areas disturbedduring the performance of the work.
