Description | This is the Design-Bid (DB) Team PRE-QUALIFICATION ONLY for the Gomez Park Project. Only DB-Teams that are successfully pre-qualified will be invited to participate in the future Request for Proposal (RFP) process. The future successful RFP responder shall be responsible for designing and constructing the Project conceptualized by the community, as well as identifying any conflicting objects / improvements / vegetation in a demolition plan. Overall, the project features include an all-inclusive playground and fitness areas, pavilion with seating, restroom and concession facility, walking path and sidewalks, parking lot and access road, renovation of existing parking lot, two multi-sport courts, park lighting, a stage, electrical upgrades, soccer field, landscaping and irrigation. A conceptual plan for the park improvements and project location map are included herein. Background- Gomez Park was originally constructed in the late 1970's. The park is situated adjacent to apartment housing and Imperial Valley Housing Authority properties. The project site has minimal recreational amenities and the amenities in existence are deemed obsolete. The neighborhood in which Gomez Park is located has an older housing stock with deferred maintenance. The park is also a retention basin and will need to continue to function as a joint use retention basin post rehabilitation. |
