Chesapeake Expressway and Dominion Boulevard - Repair and Replacement FY2019

Questions regarding this project must be submitted in writing via email to Christine Smittle, (csmittle@cityofchesapeake.net), by 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2022. The Work under this Project consists of drainage, roadway and structural maintenance along Route 168 (Chesapeake Expressway) and Route 17 (Dominion Boulevard) in Chesapeake, VA, as described below: Route 168 (Chesapeake Expressway) will extend between the southern side of Hanburry Road and the North Carolina state line. Route 17 (Dominion Boulevard) will extend from 0.34 miles south of Cedar Road to 0.38 miles north of Great Bridge Boulevard. Bid Security in the amount of FIVE percent (5%) of the Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. Each Bidder shall submit a letter of certification from their surety that an Erosion and Sediment Control Surety Bond in the amount of $ ______ will be issued if the Bidder is awarded the contract. Contractor registration in accordance with Title 2.2 Chapter 43, Code of Virginia is required. The Bidder shall include in its Bid the following notation: Licensed Virginia Contractor No. _______. Withdrawal of Bids due to error shall be subject to and in accordance with Section 2.2-4330 of the Code of Virginia, Chesapeake City Code Chapter 54, and the Contract Documents. The City of Chesapeake reserves the right to waive minor non-substantive informalities in the Bid, to reject any/or all Bids, to award any Bid in whole or in part and award the Bid considered to be in the best interest of the Owner. The City also reserves the right to negotiate with the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder should Bid exceed available funds by no more than 5%, in accordance with Chesapeake City Code Section 54-63(7).
