Hot-Mix Asphalt Paving - Townline Road

Townline Road, from Gatzke Rd northerly to M-22 Sections 6, 7, 18, 19 & 30 Centerville Township, 4.14 miles: This project consists of HMA wedging. The road will be wedged with HMA paving to correct excessive quarter crown, edge ravel, and surface repair by placing 4E1 material over the entire lane of the existing pavement. This will be a full wedge for the entire length of the roadway. Wedging is assumed to be 0-3” deep. The Road Commission may choose to undercut one or more short areas prior to paving. In these locations paving will consist of placing 4E1 material 22 feet wide (2 passes at 11 ft. each) at 330 lbs/syd. These areas will be paved in 2 lifts. The first lift will be placed as a base course, flush to existing HMA, the second lift will be placed integrally and at the same time as the HMA wedging. Both lifts will be paid for as HMA, 4E1 Wedge.
