Description

The project will upgrade drainage systems and remove a moisture retaining flowerbed from an exterior wall. The 4-inch gutter around the main structure cannot handle the volume of water put through it, causing it to overflow. A total of 8 additional downspouts will be added (3) to either side of the house and (2) added on the rear. New gutters and downspouts will be added to the back of the house and to each side of the kitchen. Adding pipe at the ground at all the down spout locations will channel water away from the foundation. Water that runs off of the back of the house flows to the east elevation and enters the cellar through the wall. Installation of a catch basin and 100 feet of 6-inch pipe will channel water away from the house, eliminating flooding problems in the cellar. Cellar doors will be rebuilt. The lack of gutter and downspout on the back porch has caused the flooring and column bases to rot; column bases, flooring and framing will be rebuilt. A plant bed along the kitchen wall will be removed.
