Water Plant No. 3 Recoating

Work of the contract consists of surface preparation and recoating of the following items: interior and exterior of two 250,000-gallon Ground Storage Tanks and two 27,000-gallon Hydropneumatic Tanks, Booster Pump Piping, Well Header Piping, Generator Enclosure, Transformer, CMU Booster Pump Building, Bollards, and seven Water Line Aerial Crossings. All items are part of HCFWSD No. 61 Water Plant No. 3 located at 9550 Huffmeister Road, Houston, Texas 77095. See Key Map No. 408B. 1. Surface preparation and coating of the exterior surfaces of the 250,000-gallon Ground Storage Tank No. 1 (North GST) including a non-skid surface on the roof of the tank, abrasive blasting to near-white metal cleanliness, 100 percent containment, prepare surface of the air vents, and roof hatch access manways. The tank is a welded steel tank and has a height of approximately 24 feet and a diameter of approximately 51 feet. 2. Surface preparation and coating of the interior surfaces of the 250,000-gallon Ground Storage Tank No. 1 (North GST) including abrasive blasting to near-white metal cleanliness, dehumidification, overflow box, and rafters. The tank is a welded steel tank and has a height of approximately 24 feet and a diameter of approximately 51 feet. Miscellaneous items for 250,000-gallon ground storage tank No. 1, including surface preparation and coating of interior ladder and bolts for manway, and disinfection. 3. Surface preparation and coating of the exterior surfaces of the 250,000-gallon Ground Storage Tank No. 2 (South GST) including a non-skid surface on the roof of the tank, abrasive blasting to near-white metal cleanliness, 100 percent containment, prepare surface of the air vents, and roof hatch access manways. The tank is a welded steel tank and has a height of approximately 24 feet and a diameter of approximately 51 feet. 4. Surface preparation and coating of the interior surfaces of the 250,000-gallon Ground Storage Tank No. 2 (South GST) including abrasive blasting to near-white metal cleanliness, dehumidification, overflow box, and rafters. The tank is a welded steel tank and has a height of approximately 24 feet and a diameter of approximately 51 feet. Miscellaneous items for 250,000-gallon ground storage tank No. 2, including surface preparation and coating of interior ladder, bolts for manway, existing platform, and handrails between ground storage tanks, installation of weep holes at 5-foot increments for existing platform between the ground storage tanks, and disinfection. 5. Surface preparation and coating of exterior surfaces of 27,000-gallon hydropneumatic tank No. 1 (West tank) including abrasive blasting to near-white metal cleanliness, gage enclosures, saddles, and manway. The hydropneumatic tank has a length of approximately 29 feet and a diameter of approximately 12 feet. 6. Surface preparation and coating of interior surfaces of 27,000-gallon hydropneumatic tank No. 1 (West tank) including abrasive blasting to near-white metal cleanliness, corresponding exterior tank appurtenances, and dehumidification. Miscellaneous items for 27,000-gallon hydropneumatic Tank No. 1, including bolts for manway and disinfection. Surface preparation and coating of exterior surfaces of 27,000-gallon hydropneumatics tank No. 2 (East tank) including abrasive blasting to near-white metal cleanliness, gage enclosures, saddles and manway. The hydropneumatic tank has a length of approximately 29 feet and a diameter of approximately 10 feet. 7. Surface preparation and coating of interior surfaces of 27,000-gallon hydropneumatic tank No. 2 (East tank) including abrasive blasting to near-white metal cleanliness, corresponding exterior tank appurtenances and dehumidification. Miscellaneous items for 27,000-gallon hydropneumatic tank No. 2, including bolts for manway and disinfection. Surface preparation and coating, including abrasive blasting and disinfection, of all existing above ground piping, booster pump piping, well header piping, and valves. 8. Surface preparation and coating of existing generator enclosure, including pressure washing and sanding. 9. Surface preparation and coating of existing transformer, including pressure washing and sanding. 10. Surface preparation and coating of existing CMU booster pump building, including doors, trim, and bollards to match existing. 11. Surface preparation and recoating of water line aerial crossings at seven locations as shown in Appendix D-Appendix M, including power washing and spot repair. 12. Steel patches welded over damaged areas due to blasting. 13. Disinfection, site restoration including sodding and site cleanup.
