Ground Storage Reservoirs Cleaning, Repair & Painting

Booster No. 4 - Near intersection of East Forest Avenue and Bishop Street, West Chicago, IL Booster No. 8 - 1255 Helena Drive, West Chicago, IL Cleaning, repairing, and painting two 500,000-gallon ground storage reservoirs in the City of West Chicago. Both reservoirs require significant structure repairs in addition to replacing the interior and exterior coatings. The Booster No. 4 reservoir was constructed in 1959 by Graver. The Booster No. 8 reservoir was constructed in 1989 by Advance Tank Company. The project is scheduled to start with Booster No. 4 on March 7, 2022 and complete with Booster No. 8 on July 25, 2022. Under no circumstances will the City permit both tanks be offline at the same time. Booster Station #4 will be returned to operation before any work commences on Booster Station #8. 1. Cleaning, sandblasting, and painting interior and exterior surfaces. Full containment is mandatory. 2. Miscellaneous structure repairs. 3. Full replacement of the roof on Booster No. 4 and rafter replacement on Booster No. 8. 4. Welding and grinding to remove erection bracket scab marks, weld spatter, poor welds, and other surface irregularities.
