Z-88 Radium Removal Media Replacement at the Existing Well No. 3 Water Treatment Facility

The work to be completed by the Contractor includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment and appurtenances necessary for the complete and satisfactory removal of all existing Water Remediation Technology, LLC (WRT) Z-88 spent radium removal media (approximately 520 cubic feet) in the two (2) existing treatment vessels at the existing WELL NO. 3 water treatment facility for the City of Vineland Municipal Water Utility, including, but not limited to, dewatering, storing, transporting and disposing of all removed media in accordance with State of New Jersey Department of Environmental (NJDEP) regulations and all Federal regulations. The work also includes the installation of approximately 520 cubic feet of new WRT Z-88 TM Radium Removal Media in the two (2) existing treatment vessels at the existing water treatment facility, including disinfection, testing and placing the existing treatment facilities back into permanent service, as described in these Specifications, Contract Drawings and Contract Documents. All work shall be performed by qualified personnel. The existing radium removal media in place is Z-88 specifically modified radium removal resin as manufactured by WRT, that does not require any chemical additives or any regeneration. As such the Z-88TM resin is considered by the City to be proprietary. Therefore, no other radium removal media or resin that requires any regeneration or chemical additives in order to meet the radium removal requirements, such as, but not limited to, media that requires the addition of sulfate, sulfuric acid or sequestering agents, will be acceptable. The existing WELL NO. 3 Water Treatment Facility is located at 330 E. Walnut Road, City of Vineland, Cumberland County, New Jersey.
