Description | The Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas for and on behalf of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, herein termed Owner, invite you to submit a sealed bid for the tear-off and re-roof of the Engineering Research Center located at 700 W Research Center Blvd, Fayetteville, AR, 72701. The Owner, unless designated to another entity, supervises the bidding and awarding of all construction contracts, approves contracts, change orders, requests for payment and ensures that on-site inspections are accomplished. The work includes General Construction to be let under one prime contract Bid Security: A cashier's check or acceptable bidder's bond payable to the Owner in an amount not less than 5% of the base bid submitted must accompany each bid as a guarantee that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will promptly enter into a contract and execute such bonds as may be required. If a Bid Bond is provided, the Bond must be signed by an authorized agent of the Bonding Company and the agent's power of attorney must be submitted with the Bid Bond. Bidders, sub-bidders, material suppliers and other interested parties are encouraged to obtain complete sets of Bid Documents from the Architect. Complete sets of Bid Documents should always be used in preparing bids. Neither the Owner nor Architect assumes responsibility for errors in bidding or misinterpretations of Bid Documents resulting from the use of incomplete sets of Bid Documents. The documents obtained through the Architect are considered the official version and take precedence if any discrepancies occur. The use of incomplete or inaccurate Bid Documents does not relieve the bidder of the obligation to perform all work related to his bid as detailed in a complete set of Bid Documents. All bidders shall conform to the requirements of Arkansas Code Annotated 17-25-101, Arkansas State Licensing Law for Contractors. Bidders are hereby notified that any bidder who desires to enter into Contract for this work must comply with disclosure requirements pursuant to Governor Executive Order 98-04. Submission to the Owner of completed Disclosure forms will be a condition of the Contract. The Owner cannot enter into any contract, which does not obligate the contractor to require the submission of Disclosure forms for subcontractors. Pursuant to Arkansas Code Annotated 22-9-203, the Owner encourages all small, minority, and women owned business enterprises to submit bids for capital improvements. Encouragement is also made to all general contractors that in the event they subcontract portions of their work, consideration is given to the identified groups. The Owner reserves the right to waive any formalities in, or to reject any or all bids. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the date of the opening thereof. |
