Description | This project is in the conceptual phase. As of November 6, 2018, the owner has not selected an architect and a timeline for award has not been established. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is not expected to begin before September 2019. The Alber Student Center was built in 1986 and is the campus crossroads for OSU Marion and Marion Tech student life. The facility functions as the primary location for students to socialize, recreate and engage in wellness activity. The goal of the project is to attract and engage current and potential students by creating a welcoming environment with natural light and student centric spaces. The renovation includes an approximately 17,000 sq ft reorganization of office, wellness, fitness, student organization gathering, activity spaces and new food service with interior and exterior dining space. Planning is to include locations for primary and secondary building additions with exterior connectivity. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time. |
