Description

Project Number 613-21-105 is Seeking a construction contractor to furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision to replace steam piping, insulation and other steam related work and equipment between Building 310 and 217. Furnish all labor, tools, material, equipment, and supervision to provide: General Construction: Make wall openings in steam tunnels to bring in and take out steam and condensate piping and accessories; patch openings when pipe work is complete. Earth excavation, backfilling, seeding and chain-link fence security is required for all tunnel openings. Electrical Construction: Existing conduit will be relocated as needed for new steam and condensate pipe installation. Mechanical Construction: Installation of new medium pressure steam and pumped condensate pipe with anchors, roller supports and expansion compensators. Some portions of the project have exposed pipe above the building roofs, some have pipe routed aboveground, both on structural steel stanchions, and some have pipe routed in existing steam tunnels. All piping shall be factory insulated, equal to “Rovanco” model 300HT. All pipe shall be butt-welded with insulation kits from the pipe manufacturer. Adequate ventilation according to OSHA is required for confined welding conditions. After new piping is installed and tested, the existing piping, valves, anchors, expansion compensators and concrete anchor blocks will be removed from the existing tunnels.
