Bay View Knife Gate Rebuild

To remove, rebuild, and reinstall a 36-inch bonneted knife gate valve at the Bay View Pump Station, 3900 North Summit St., Toledo Oh. a. The City of Toledo will secure, lock-out, b. The Contractor will remove the Rotork actuator from the valve. c. The Contractor, in coordination with The City, will shut down and isolate necessary pumps to remove the Knife gate. d. After the valve is removed, the contractor will blind flange both ends of the exposed piping so the pumps can be put back in service. e. The contractor will transport the valve to an appropriate shop for evaluation. f. After the shop evaluation, the contractor will submit a report to the City outlining all recommendations for replacement/refurbishment. g. The City will evaluate the report and approve the valve replacement/refurbishment work. (This work will be paid on a Time and Material basis) h. The Contractor, in coordination with The City, will shut down and isolate necessary pumps to replace the refurbished Knife gate. i. The Contractor will reinstall the actuator, restore power, and put the valve back inservice
