In no case, shall any work be commenced prior to receipt of formal Notice of Award by the Department and the City. This work shall consist of undercutting and backfilling to replace material that in the opinion of the Engineer is susceptible to frost heave or differential frost action and to remedy unstable soil conditions. This work shall be done in accordance with Section 205 of the 2020 Standard Specifications for Construction except as provided herein.
