Description | The 3,188 SM (34,315 SF) facility shall be constructed utilizing economical design and construction methods to accommodate the mission of the facility. Project includes a primary facility (fire/crash rescue station) manned by 78 personnel and capable of housing a full accompaniment of fifteen (15) fire-fighting vehicles with three drive-through stalls/bays. The facility will also provide space for maintenance, administration, physical fitness, training, and living quarters for fire fighters. Site location must consider response time to both aircraft and structural emergencies. Supporting facilities include utilities, pavements, communications support, emergency generator, site improvements and potentially soil remediation, and demolition of three facilities (3,281 SM). The facility shall be compatible with applicable DoD, Air Force, and Base Design Standards. In addition, local materials and construction techniques shall be used where cost effective. The facility will be designed as permanent construction in accordance with the DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC 1-200-01). This project will comply with DoD Antiterrorism/Force Protection requirements per UFC 4-010-01.
