Description

The City of Ontario Department of Public Works seeks a contractor to provide chain link fence repair and new chain link fence installation services throughout its public service area in Ontario, California. SCOPE (1) Chain link Fence Repairs Includes but is not limited to 4',6',8' or 10' high fences, rails, handrails, gates, posts, home-plate backstops, trash enclosures & storage facilities (2) New Chain link Fence Installation Includes but is not limited to 4',6',8' or 10' high fences, rails, handrails, gates, posts, home-plate backstops, trash enclosures & storage facilities. (3) Bid will include unit prices for repair and install on a separate schedule, as well as labor rate and rate per pound to dispose of debris and concrete The bidder must attach a pdf file to the electronic bid submission containing all of the completed and signed Bid Documents including a Bid Bond. Bidder must comply with SB854 - Public Works Contractor Registration Program. Bidder may begin bid process at any time prior to the bid deadline. Information entered is viewable only to bidder and may be saved, changed, or withdrawn up until the deadline. Upon selection and notification of award, contractor will be required to submit a Payment Bond and a Performance Bond each for 100% of the total bid amount. No substitutions will be considered unless written request for approval has been received by the City by Monday, August 22th by 5 P.M. Such requests shall include the name of the material or equipment for proposed substitution including drawings, performance and test data, and other information necessary for an evaluation. A statement setting forth changes in other materials, equipment or other portions of the work including changes in the work prompted by the substitution shall be included. The burden of proof of the merit of the proposed substitution is upon the proposer. The City's decision of approval or disapproval of a proposed substitution shall be final. Cash, cashier's or certified check may be submitted in lieu of a bid bond. A personal or company check will not be accepted. This is a State Prevailing Wage Project. List all subcontractors being paid in excess of 1/2 of 1% of the total bid amount. Absent a named sub for any portion of the work, Bidder agrees he is qualified and will perform that portion of the work Bidders may not bid as a prime and also submit a bid as a subcontractor. It is the bidder's responsibility to become familiar with the contract documents in their entirety. All forms in the bid booklet must be properly completed to be deemed responsive. The City reserves the right to order more, less, or no items at the "per unit cost" stated in the bid proposal. Award of contract will be made by City Council.
