A. Site preparation and construction of a new concrete foundation at the camp. B. Strip to remove all top soil, gravel, and other deleterious materials from the subgrade to a minimum of 1 foot below the existing grade. C. Over excavated a minimum of 4 feet below existing grade and replace with compacted select fill. The over-excavation should extend a minimum of 3 feet beyond the edge of the footing. After the excavation is complete and prior to the placement of fill, scarify the exposed subgrade to a depth of 12 inches, adjust the moisture content to, and maintain it within a range optimum to optimum+4% and re-compact to a minimum density of 98% of the maximum density defined by ASTM D 698(Standard Procter). Maintain specified moisture content until the subgrade is covered with fill or slab. D. All concrete shall be 3000psi unless noted otherwise E. All concrete shall be installed to elevations and dimensions shown on shop drawings. F. All concrete flat work shall have a broom finish. G. All footings shall be poured monolithic. Concrete flat work (slabs) may be poured in sections utilizing a “key way” for cold joints. See detail F/S1 H. All footings shall be a minimum depth of 18”. I. All reinforcement shall have a minimum of 1 ½ “concrete coverage. Use bar chairs where needed. (Do not allow rebar to come in contact with soil.) J. All rebar shall be cold formed. Do not use heat to form bent bars or stirrups.
