Description | Dagger Creek Bridge Replacement - This project is for the installation of a government supplied 43-foot prefabricated steel bridge at the Dagger Creek crossing on the 40568 road. Salmon Challis National Forest Magnitude of Construction: Between $100,000 and $250,000 100% Small Business Set Aside NAICS: 237310 Small Business Size: $39.5M. SCOPE OF CONTRACT This project is for the installation of a government supplied 43-foot prefabricated steel bridge at the Dagger Creek crossing on the 40568 road. The vendor is expected to pick-up a 43-foot government supplied modular bridge from the SalmonChallis National Forest yard in Challis, Idaho, transport to the jobsite and install. The work anticipated includes traffic control, clearing and grubbing, replacement of a 30-inch corrugated metal culvert, removing the existing culvert and installing the bridge, constructing new approaches to the installed bridge on the existing road alignment, and construction of minor channel structures and bank protection. The contractor will be required to supply erosion control materials, fill and aggregate quarried from approved pit locations, and the concrete for the wear surface, as well as any tools, equipment or supplies not listed as government supplied in the contract. Ancillary work includes dewatering and rewatering of the channel, diversion of a live stream, and construction and removal of a temporary bypass road to facilitate traffic during construction. The contractor may use embankment material intended for the approach fills as fill material for the temporary traffic diversion or provide another means of diversion. In-stream work windows for listed species are in effect with in-stream work allowed for a four-week period starting mid-July. Suitable materials sources exist on government property for pit materials near the project. The contractor may use these sources within the constraints of existing pit development/operating plans. The contractor is required to submit plans and documents including but not limited to dewatering, SWPPP, and traffic control plans as well as schedules that comply with project work restrictions. |
