Stroudwater River Dam Slide Gate Replacement Project

The Stroudwater River Dam Slide Gate Replacement Project is located on the Stroudwater River immediately west of Westbrook Street bridge over the river 820 feet from intersection of Westbrook Street with Congress Avenue and 160 feet north of the intersection of Garrison Street with Westbrook Street. The dam is located on property held by the city of Portland. Access from Westbrook Street ion the north side of the river. Outline of Work: The work includes the sealing off water from sluice channel and maintaining flow over spillway, removing existing Whipps Aluminum Slide Gate, hauling new slide gate from 109 District Road Facility to the site and installing new Whipps Aluminum Slide Gate (supplied by the city) into existing steel channel track. The existing electric gate operator shall be removed and new operator installed. The Electrical work shall be included in this project. Work also includes but not limited to dewatering, vehicular traffic control, silt fence, SESC tracking pad, restoration of all surfaces and associated work.
