Description

Amelia County is soliciting sealed bids from qualified General Contractors for single phase adaptive reuse project for a new office to be located in Amelia Courthouse, Virginia (the county seat) at 9100 Virginia Street in what was previously occupied by Wells Fargo Bank (originally constructed in 1978). The exterior scope of work will consist of general maintenance and improvement of the windows, doors, joints, and refinishing of all wood trim elements (columns, louvers, shutters, fascia, rakes, eaves, & siding). The building interior will be altered by demolishing casework and select walls to change the space to function as the new Clerk of the Court office with the following rooms / spaces: Public Records, Recording Stations / Transaction Counter, Clerks Offices, Evidence / Secure Records (vault), Conference Room / File Room, LAN Security, Lounge, Unisex Toilet Rooms, and Janitor's Closet. Existing Clerk Of The Court furnishings / equipment will be moved and installed by the contractor from the existing Clerk of the Court building to the new office. The Contractor shall provide all necessary administration, materials, labor, and components required for the project construction and competition is accordance with the Invitation for Bids, the Project Manual (including Instructions to Bidders), and the Drawings, as designed by Architectural Partners, are available digitally upon request. ids shall be accompanied by a certified check, cash or an acceptable bid bond in the amount of five (5) percent of the base bid for all bids over $500,000. Bidders must be licensed contractors in the Commonwealth of Virginia in accordance with Title 54.1, Chapter 11 of the Code of Virginia as amended; and meet requirements of Title 2.2, Chapter 43, Paragraph 2.2-4311, Employment Discrimination Prohibitions, Paragraph 2.2-4312, Drug Free Workplace, and 2.2-4311.1 Compliance with State and Local Immigration Laws. The contract will be awarded on a lump sum base bid to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Amelia County reserves the right to award the contract in whole or in part.
