Description | The Contractor shall: a. Clean Diffuser’s in digester #3 in Bldg. 4639. i. Provide and erect all required safety barriers needed to keep unauthorized personnel out of the work area. ii. Secure all power, Lock & Tag Out the electrical disconnect (s), along with all water isolation valves to the diffusers/blowers prior to any work. iii. Ensure Clarifier is completely empty. iv. Ensure that all power is secured by using an authorized electrical testing device. v. This work will be performed in a confined space and will require certified confined space personnel to perform the work. All confined space procedures shall be followed. vi. Disconnect, remove and clean a total of (30) Course air diffusers. Clear each of the diffuser ports of debris and buildup. vii. Disconnect the 4” stainless header pipe at multiple locations and clean with a high velocity water jet. Ensure there is no rags/sediment left inside the pipe. viii. Properly replace gaskets and reconnect the flanges on the 4” stainless pipe. Reinstall 30 course air diffusers to the proper operating position. ix. Remove Tags and Lockouts from electrical disconnects, and valves. x. Fill the basin with water above the diffusers and perform multiple operational test to ensure the diffusers are cleaned, clear of debris and operating properly. Any other discrepancies beyond this scope of work shall be reported to the PAR. b. Additional Information related to the completion of work. i. The contractor is to stay off the grass. If grass is damaged during this contract it must be replanted with sod. ii. Prior to leaving the site, the contractor shall conduct site cleanup and return area to its original condition. iii. After inspection and approval, turn all paperwork into the Contracting Officers Representative. |
