Description

The Lewis & Clark Trail is an existing trail in the Jameson Island Unit of BMNFWR, near Arrow Rock, MO, that needs restoration and resurfacing due to years of flooding in the area. The site of the project is the top of a remnant levy that is surrounded by overhanging trees. Minimal tree removal will be completed and must be discussed with BMNFWR staff prior to removal. Project equipment on the trail will be skid steer or similar equipment with the desire to keep as many trees as possible. The project will involve removing and disposing of existing gravel and geotextile fabric, leveling and widening the site where necessary, and installing 1 ½” crushed gravel footing 6’ wide, geotextile fabric, 3/8” crushed gravel, packed with vibratory roller, as the surface material.
