Description

The Project consists of conducting a thorough assessment of the current condition of all municipal parking facilities, including parking garages and surface parking lots. The assessment will concentrate on the maintenance aspect of these facilities and will identify any existing deficiencies and the costs to repair them and make specific recommendations for repairs both immediate and over a ten-year period. The Project also consists of developing a 10-year master maintenance program that includes capital improvements for maintenance, repair, demolition and/or replacement of the existing garages or surface parking lots. The facilities condition assessment and maintenance plan is to be completed for the following five (5) City-owned parking garages. 1. Chapel Hill Street Parking Garage 2. Church Street Parking Garage 3. Corcoran Street Parking Garage 4. Durham Centre Parking Garage 5. Morgan/Rigsbee Parking Garage The Chapel Hill Street Garage is located at Chapel Hill and Mangum Streets and has 364 public parking spaces and has 1 elevator located inside facility. The Church Street Garage is located on Church Street, between Main Street and Ramseur Streets. This is a 3 level structure and contains 412 public parking spaces. The facility has 1 elevator located inside facility. The Corcoran Street Garage is located on Corcoran Street and Ramseur Street and is a 6 level Structure with approximately 554 public parking spaces. The facility has 3 elevators located in this facility. The Durham Centre Garage is located on Morgan Street and contains 720 public parking spaces. The garage has 3 elevators located inside facility. The Morgan Rigsbee Garage is located on the corner of Morgan St and Mangum Street is a mixed use parking facility with a 665 space public parking facility and retail spaces. The facility has 2 elevators located inside parking facility.
