MSMD-Mount Vernon District- Trail improvement along Mount Vernon Memorial HWY (Southwood Dr. to Old Mount Vernon Rd) FY 2023

) SCOPE OF WORK: The Department of Public Works and Environmental Services - Maintenance and Stormwater Management Division (MSMD) is seeking bids to provide maintenance work for existing asphalt trails located at various locations in Mount Vernon district. . General Work Description i. Removal of existing trail section to include surface pavement, base, and sub-base materials to a depth of 6 inches below existing grade. ii. Place 4 inches of compacted 21-A stone for 7-foot-wide section, stone must extend 6 inches from edge of pavement on both sides. (See detail Attachment A) iii. Pave trail with 2 inches of SM-9.5A asphalt over sub-base (21-A), for 6-foot-wide. iv. Install 6 inches wide by 2 inches depth of topsoil and on both sides of the pavement. v. Seed and stabilize all disturbed areas as per section J-13 and ensure trail shoulders match of edge and/or asphalt trail. vi. Maintain existing cross grades to ensure positive drainage patterns from adjacent yards. vii. Cut and remove roots, as per Roots Pruning (See Item K below). viii. Utility meters to be adjusted or flushed. ix. Provide traffic control during this project.
