Services For Replacement of the Powhatan Springs Skatepark and Associated Amenities

Potential Offerors interested in providing Construction Manager at Risk Services for replacement of the Powhatan Springs Skatepark must first apply to be prequalified. This Request for Qualifications is the first phase of a two-phase procurement process. The County will evaluate applications based upon the identified evaluation criteria and will select those Applicants it deems qualified. Only those Applicants deemed qualified will be invited to submit a proposal in response to a detailed Request for Proposals, which will be issued in the second phase of the procurement process. The existing skatepark has a skate area of approximately 15,000 square feet. This project is to provide an artistically designed concrete skatepark that is anticipated to be approximately 19,000 square feet of skate area and support facilities. The skatepark is anticipated to include street skating elements, a flow course and bowls. The skatepark shall be in the same general location as the existing skatepark. The Project will include demolition of the existing concrete skatepark and construction of flat and structural concrete work, steel railing, retaining walls, steps, specialty integral colored and applied color concrete, storm drainage, possible relocation of existing lighting, shade structures, fencing and additional site furnishings and repaving of handicap parking spaces. The finished project shall be in accordance with all Federal, State and County building codes. The budget for hard costs, construction management fees, and general conditions is $2,000,000. A conceptual skatepark plan has been developed under a separate contract. The County is in the process of engaging an Architect/Engineer to develop design development plans and construction plansfor the new Powhatan Springs Skatepark. The conceptual plan for the revised skatepark has a skate area of approximately 19,000 square feet.
