Description | The Work will consist of clearing and grubbing, reclaim and repave of an existing walking trail with 2" HMA SP-IV, additional base course, and geogrid. Construction Industries Division (CID) Project Classification Determination is GA1, GA2, or GA98. In accordance with the provisions of the New Mexico Construction Industries Licensing Act, all project work must be performed by properly licensed contractors and subcontractors with active licenses in good standing as of the date and time specified for Bid Opening. The City has determined that the Contractor shall possess a valid license classification as specified above or other appropriate license classification under the Construction Industries Licensing Act at the time the contract is Bid. Any work outside the scope of the Prime Contractor's classification(s) must be subcontracted. Any work subcontracted by a Prime Contractor must be performed by an entity that is validly licensed in the classification(s) of the work that is to be subcontracted as of the date and time specified for Bid Opening. Bids that do not satisfy applicable licensing requirements will be considered nonresponsive Prospective BIDDERS are advised that there will be NO 10% Bid Evaluation Criterion for area (local) businesses, NO Resident Business Preference, and NO Resident Veterans Preference that will apply to this Project. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of not less than five (5) percent of the total Bid amount. The successful BIDDER will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the amount of one hundred (100) percent of the Bid amount to assure performance of the Contract, and payment for all labor and materials of the Contract. No Bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of Bids, and the City of Alamogordo reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and waive all technicalities and formalities. No BIDDER may withdraw their Bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the Bid Opening thereof. Attention of BIDDERS is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract. a. Provide traffic control for work area. b. Clear and grub approximately 1,400 LF of existing trail footprint to 10' wide. Existing asphalt trail is approximately 2" thick and varies in width between 6.5' and 7.5'. Follow existing trail path. c. Remove and dispose of vegetation and tree roots in top 6" of existing subgrade. d. Reclaim existing asphalt and base course. e. Blend into new 10' wide subgrade. f. Regrade and recompact subgrade. g. Provide and install 8' wide Tensar TX-8 geogrid or equal. h. Import and install 4" compacted (to 95% density) base course, 8' wide. i. Provide and install 2" compacted HMA SP-IV, 7' wide. j. Backfill shoulders with base course to subgrade line. k. Existing embedded mileage markers to be removed and salvaged to the Owner |
