Description

No Bids received. Demolition of two residential structures at 246-248 Houghton & 86-88 Prospect streets, with 4 alternates. Est. above is on the Base Bid portion and done so as full asbestos NTWP. Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. 1. All buildings must be completely demolished and removed. Work here shall include the removal/disposal of all other debris/junk/tires, any out-buildings/garages/sheds, fences, found on or within the subject properties, and shall include all tank and boiler/furnace removal/disposal which may be above and/or below grade, and all other items on said property. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to thoroughly inspect said property in order to fully ascertain the entire extent of all work. Work here shall also include all asbestos abatement work as needed prior to actual demolition. The shut-off and capping of underground utilities shall be behind the sidewalk as the existing sidewalk and roadway shall not be disturbed, or capped within the plot of the affected parcels as directed so by the City. 2. Cellar holes will be knocked down to a minimum depth of three (3 LF) below grade, and filled level to grade with clean fill with the top one foot being clean gravel, and capped with and adequate amount of loam, seeded and topped with hay. Utility connections will be cut-off and capped by the contractor on the street-side of the sidewalk. 3. The contractor must supply all containers for debris, to fill and remove said containers, and supply their own water tanker for dust control. Proper and adequate dust control is mandatory. Tapping into the City fire-hydrants is not allowable. Asking permission from a neighboring property in return for whatever type of compensation that may be offered is specifically prohibited, and if contractor is found to have contacted neighboring property owners, this will be cause for immediate dismissal from the project. Any questions pertaining to these specifications may be directed to the OCD in writing no later than Wednesday, May 17, 2023, 12:00 PM, after which time the OD shall have two business days thereafter to respond to all plan holders
