Description | The Scope of Work for the Project includes the construction of approximately 861 lineal feet of storm sewer pipe, (8) curbed inlet structures, pavement demolition, new 2' c urb and gutter, concrete entrances, new 4" standard duty asphalt and all other work necessary to complete the project. Work shall include all other incidental items and work described in the Drawings, Specifications and/or other Contract Documents or reasonably inferable therefrom. The project is funded through the Jefferson CountyCommunity Development Block Grant program, CDBG# SWI-22-001. The City of De Soto anticipates issuing a Notice to Proceed inJune 2022. All work to be performed under this contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and U rban Development Act of 1968, as amended, 12 U.S.C. 1701u. Successful bidder agrees to comply with HUD'S regulations in 24 CFR Part 135. The project is a federally-funded prevailing wage project which triggers Federal Labor Standards Compliance. The wage rates applicable to this project have been predetermined as required by law and are set forth in this specification. When Federal wage rates are applicable and included, its contract is subject to the "Work Hours Act of 1962," (P.L. 87-581: 76 Stat. 357) and implementing regulations. Effective January 1, 2009, and pursuant to RSMo 285.530 (1), No business entity or employer shall knowingly employ, hire for employment, or continue to employ an unauthorized alien to perform work within the state of Missouri. The successful bidder must submit a sworn affidavit and documentation affirming the business entity's enrollment and participation in the federal work authorization program and that all of its employees working for the contracted services are not illegal immigrants. Upon signing the contract, the successful contractor and any subcontractor performing the work shall provide a 10-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) construction safety program for their onsite employees, as specified in Section 3.3.5 of the General Conditions of the Contract Documents. The City of DeSoto hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. The city intends to award the contract to the most responsive, responsible bidder submitting the lowest bid. The city reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive any irregularities in the best interest of the city. |
