Description | City/County: Carol Stream Section No. 21-00066-00-MS Description: Safety Improvements to Design Retaining Walls, Guardrail, and Culvert Replacement. Proposed Improvements Will Include New Retaining Walls, New Guardrail, and New Culverts. The Purpose of the Project is to Provide Safety to Motorists With New Safety Features Including Wider Shoulders, Retaining Walls, Guardrail, and Barrier Terminal Sections. The Need for This Project is to Prevent Poor Existing Conditions From Causing Further Crashes, Damages, and Injury to Motorists. LOCATION OF PROJECT This project begins at a point along the projected centerline of Fair Oaks Road approximately 185 feet south of the centerline of Jason Court, at Station 99+62 and extends in a northerly direction for a distance of 512.5 feet (0.1 miles) to south of Riviera Court, at Station 104+74.5, approximately 125 feet south of Riviera Court. The project is within the Village of Carol Stream and Wayne Township Road District. The total project gross and net length is 512.5 feet (0.1 miles). ILDOT - Safety Improvements BID SECURITY: Bid security in the amount of not less than 5 percent (5%) of the Bid shall accompany each Bid in accordance with the Bidding Documents. CONTRACT SECURITY: The Bidder to whom a Contract is awarded shall be required to furnish both a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond acceptable to the Village for one-hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price, in accordance with the requirements of the Contract Documents. Davis-Bacon Wage decisions are applicable to this project and are only superseded in instances by and where Illinois Prevailing Wages exceed Davis-Bacon in wage, fringe benefits, and/or trade stipulations (requirements). If this project does not start within ninety (90) days of contract award, the wage decisions applicable to the project shall be replaced with the Davis-Bacon Wage decisions that are current as of the date of contract award.
