Description

As of July 24, 2023, an architect has been selected and this project is in the final planning phase. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, it is anticipated bidding will commence end of 2023, with construction starting in first quarter of 2024. This project is in included in the City of Greensboro's FY 2023-32 Capital Improvements Program (CIP). Water quality laboratory at Lake Townsend requires expansion and upgrades. 1. Add bench space for testing, 2, Environmental control improvements, 3 Replace aging vent hoods, 4, Expand footprint to include aquatics (lakes) testing station. 5. Digital integration of analyzers and test equipment (LIMS) 6. Improve efficiency and work environment through better ergonomics and human engineering changes, 7 Add workspaces for lab techs, who are crowded together at benches, 8. Various electrical and lighting upgrades. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
