The Work includes, but is not limited to, the construction of an approximately 50,000 SF new Senior Care facility on a green field site. The shell consists of CIP concrete, stone, siding, steel members, windows, asphalt shingles, membrane roofing with slab on grade floor. The interior finishes will be finishes gypsum wall board, flooring products, acoustical ceiling system, wooden casework and trim. The proposals will be presented to and considered by the Board of Trustees of the Hospital during a special meeting on February 2, 2023 at 12:00 in Conference Room 1315 of Story County Medical Center. Such proposals received will be acted upon at such time and place or at such later time and place as may then be fixed. Bidding questions are due no later than 4:00 PM CST on January 16, 2023. Questions shall be submitted to the Architect and Construction Manager via email and send to representatives listed in the project directory. All bids must be accompanied by bid security payable to the Hospital in an amount equal to at least 5% of the highest total amount including Add Alternates. The bid security may be in the form of a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or a bid bond executed by corporations authorized to contract as surety in the State of Iowa. The bid bond shall be executed by the Bidder on RD Instruction 1942-A IA Guide 19 Attachment 4. Bid Security shall be in a separate envelope with the sealed bid and shall be forfeited to the Hospital as liquidated damages in the event the bidder fails to enter a contract and furnish a bond within ten days after his bid has been accepted. No Bidder may withdraw his bid for at least sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price. The Bond must be issued by a responsible surety approved by the Board of Trustees of the Hospital. The Notice to Proceed will be issued following acceptance of the executed Contract by the successful Bidder and the requisite Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond and insurance certificates, and a determination by the Hospital that it has secured permanent financing for the Project and approval by USDA- RD to issue the Notice to Proceed. All work for this package shall be completed within the given schedule set forth in the bidding documents. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa. A hearing will be conducted thereon at a meeting of the Board of the Hospital to be held at 11:30 a.m., on January 26, 2023 in the Board Room on the Hospital Campus, at which time and place any person may appear and file objections to the proposed plans, specifications and form of contract and estimated costs for said Projects. QUESTIONS: Bidding questions are due no later than 4:00 PM CST on January 16, 2023.
