Description

The Work is to perform Generator Maintenance Services at its Golden Gate Division Office, located in Vallejo California. A. First Semi-Annual Service shall include service and materials for the following: 1. Perform coolant flush including new coolant, belts, hoses, thermostats, and radiator cap. 2. Replace battery (write replacement date on battery). 3. Perform complete tune-up on engine to include replacing spark plugs, changing the oil and all filters (i.e., coolant, air, fuel and oil). Sample the anti-freeze coolant in the engine and supply a report. Blow out the generator/alternator with dry nitrogen. Check the controller and all engine safeties. Clean and adjust the voltage relays. Lubricate the transfer switch mechanism with dry lubricant made for electrical devices. 4. Provide resistive load bank service annually and prearrange time of load bank service with the CHP on-site contact. This should be a typical two-hour testing process. 5. The first semi-annual service will also include all items listed under B., below. B. First and Second Semi-Annual Service shall include the following: 1. Service the battery and record the levels. 2. Check the oil level. 3. Check the water and anti-freeze levels. 4. Check belt tension. 5. Drain the sediment off the fuel filters and day tank. 6. Check the battery charger. 7. Test run system under building load. 8. Check for leaks, make a visual inspection, and make minor adjustments if necessary. 9. Touch-up paint if necessary, to prevent equipment from rusting. C. 480 Hour Service shall include the following: 1. Adjust the valves. 2. Check the injectors and adjust timing and rack. 3. Perform a complete tune-up on the engine. D. Load Bank Service shall include the following: 1. Provide resistive load bank service at the beginning of each contract year or at a time agreed upon between CHP representative or designee, and Contractor. This should be a typical two (2) hour testing process to be done annually. E. General Information: 1. Contractor shall take all necessary precautions to protect service location. Any damage caused by Contractor to State equipment, materials, or other property shall be repaired by Contractor to the satisfaction of the State at no cost to the State. The State may, at its option, repair any damage and deduct from Contractor the cost thereof. 2. Contractor shall take measures to see that all materials left as a result of the work shall be removed. 3. All replaced parts shall be verified by the CHP on-site contact prior to removal. 4. Document engine run hours in logbook. 5. Contractor must inspect the facility and verify the list of equipment to be serviced and maintained according to the specifications. 6. All quotations for additional services not covered under this agreement shall be provided to the State at no cost to the State. 7. All invoices must be sent with the appropriate accompanying documents to the CHP on-site contact for approval. 8. Invoices must be legible, provide the date of service and must be itemized or they will be disputed. 9. If there are any discrepancies on the invoice concerning hours worked, the CHP will refer to the sign-in sheet to confirm actual hours at the facility. 10. Invoices not on pre-printed bill heads shall be signed by Contractor furnishing the service.
