Bridge Rehabilitation and Asphalt Resurfacing Between Milepost A-90.80 and Milepost A-95.17 in Carbon County

As of April 6, 2023, project was awarded to NEW ENTERPRISE STONE & LIME CO., INC., awarded amount is $29,791,926.85. For the following Contract: Bridge Rehabilitation and Asphalt Resurfacing Between Milepost A-90.80 and Milepost A-95.17 in Carbon County This project provides for the milling and resurfacing of the asphalt surfaces of the Northeast Extension including the ramps at the Pocono Interchange and Pocono Maintenance lots, and rehabilitation of bridges NB-613 over Return Rd, NB-617 over Black Creek, NB-618 over SR 0940 and NB-620 over Pocono Interchange Ramp AB. Work will also include repairs to the shoulder and slopes, rock blanket and rock armor installation and replacement, excavation, paving, guide rail and drainage. Also included is the Maintenance and Protection of Traffic. Work items include, but are not limited to: 7,764 CY Excavation, Various Types 22,849 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, Wearing Course, Various Mixes 40,237 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, Binder Course 2,327 SY 1.5" Pervious Pavement 2,447 LF Asphalt Concrete Curb 7,292 CY Rock Armor, Modified 1,428 CY Rock, Class R-4 2,749 CY Rock Blanket 16,200 LF Type 31-S Guide Rail Installation 16,773 LF Guide Rail Removal 1,583 LF Concrete Median Barrier Installation 55 EA Inlets, Various Type & Conditions 3,490 TON Subbase (NO. 2A) 4,934 SY Shoulder Backup 886 LF 18" Thermoplastic Pipe 48 LF 24" Thermoplastic Pipe 12,631 LF Compost Filter Sock 892 SY Rubblize Existing Concrete Swale 138 CY Class AA Cement Concrete 27,287 LB Reinforcement Bars, Epoxy Coated 86 SY Cast-in-Place or Precast Approach Slab 6,360 SF Concrete Bridge Deck Repair - Type 2 570 SF Concrete Bridge Deck Repair - Type 3 3,064 SY Polyester Polymer Concrete Overlay, 1.5" 2,500 SF Class AA Cement Concrete Repairs Milepost A-90.80 is located approximately 3.7 miles south of the Pocono Interchange, Exit 95, and Milepost A-95.17 is located approximately 0.5 miles north of the Pocono Interchange, Exit 95, in Carbon County, Pennsylvania. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure. The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract.
