2022 Elementary Structured Cabling

The District intends to leverage E-Rate Category 2 funding for this structured cabling refresh project at the following elementary schools: Jane Addams, Lincoln-Irving, Roosevelt, Willard, and Jefferson. Specifically, the following network locations should be included in this RFP response per school. These network locations are listed in order of priority of available funds and should be broken out in the bidder’s quote as separate line items per school: (a) Existing Cat5/Cat5e cabling to wireless access point (AP) locations will be upgraded to Cat6a specifications to include appropriate patch panel in corresponding MDF/IDF. (b) Existing Coax and Cat5/Cat5e cabling to IP Security Camera locations will be upgraded to Cat6 specifications to include appropriate patch panel in corresponding MDF/IDF. (c) (May not be Applicable) Existing 1Gbs Fiber OR data cabling between MDF/IDF locations will be upgraded to Fiber cabling capable of a 10Gbs minimum backbone at specific locations. a) Cost should include all corresponding SFP modules and fiber patch cables to make connections to the backbone. b) SFP modules MUST be HPE Aruba OEM. Owner will provide part numbers upon request. c) Refer to section 4.2 for data sheets and special considerations per school. (d) Existing phone locations upgraded from Cat2/3 cabling to Cat6 specifications to include appropriate patch panel in corresponding MDF/IDF. a) Existing Cat2/3 cabling will remain at these locations. (e) Existing office locations upgraded to Cat6 specifications to include all office phone locations to include appropriate patch panel in corresponding MDF/IDF. (f) Existing classroom teacher locations to Cat6 specifications (Access Point locations will be included in Priority a) to include appropriate patch panel in corresponding MDF/IDF. (g) MDF locations at Jane Addams, Roosevelt, Lincoln-Irving, and Willard will be moved to a new location. (h) Any existing location that already meets Cat6 specifications can remain intact. (i) The system shall perform at a minimum of 1Gb for copper transport and a minimum of 10Gb (singlemode) for fiber transport between network closets.
