Description | The project scope of work includes replacing the existing HVAC air-handling and condensing units; a laundry room addition (approximately 7ft by 6ft); electrical service extension to existing detached garage; renovation of the two (2) second floor bathrooms; renovate the ADA bathroom on the first floor; expand and renovate the kitchen; repair chimney leak and other minor building repairs; and alterations to existing fire alarm and fire suppression systems at the Buckeye House located at 411-413 South Market Street, Troy, Ohio. The Buckeye House is a homeless shelter for men owned and operated by the Family Abuse Shelter (FAS) of Miami County, Inc. All Contractors and Subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practical, use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of this project. This project is part of a Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program; therefore, Bidders must comply with Federal Labor Standards Provisions, including Copeland Anti-kickback, Contract Hours and Safety Standards, Davis-Bacon Prevailing Wage Rates for Miami County, Ohio, HUD Section 3 requirements, and the President's Executive Order No. 11246 and other Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) provisions. Bidders must comply with Davis Bacon federal prevailing wage rates, submit evidence of his/her experience on projects of similar size and complexity. A bid guaranty as follows is required to accompany each proposal as a guarantee that if the proposal is accepted a contract will be entered into: A bid bond in the amount of 100% of the bid amount, payable to the City of Troy, Ohio, or A certified check, a cashiers' check, an Official Bank Check, or a letter of credit in the amount of 10% of the bid amount, payable to the City of Troy, Ohio. The City of Troy, Ohio, reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularities in the bids when to the advantage of the City of Troy, Ohio, and to select the best bid in its opinion.
