Description | The objectives of the project are to: 1. Understand the circulation patterns for pedestrians and incorporate it with what we already know about vehicular traffic. The data will establish high volume/high priority areas for signage and will be used to set signage priorities. This information will assist in developing key decision locations and identifying gateways. 2. Create a comprehensive signage master plan. The plan will focus on attractions and retail wayfinding, gateway signage and directional signs to parking and will include a sign location map, a phased implementation plan as well as cost estimates for fabrication. 3. Create a design concept. The concept will incorporate brand identity for the Town to develop an attractive family of signs to execute signage outlined in the master plan. The concept will graphically articulate Centreville’s sense of identity and place for visitors as well as residents and businesses. Please note: This project requires coordination and approval of sign locations and design specifications by the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) on state-owned streets (Commerce Street and Liberty Street). |
